Karakol Ski Resort, the best ski area in Central Asia!

Karakol Ski resort in ‘t lang
Beginners and experienced rotten skiers alike will find what they are looking for here: there are blue, red and black runs and a whole further valley with plenty of trees to make their own tracks. Freeriders among us: the area has masses of offpiste potential. And there is even a small fun park.
Sometimes freeriders are also a bit lazy: for a negligible amount of money, you can get to the top of the ski resort by snowmobile. Then to hurtle all the way down from about 3,450m.
The snow is abundant and of exceptional quality due to its proximity to Lake Issyk Kul (which provides a microclimate of sorts). On nice days you ski in lush, meter-high, slightly dry powder. Champagne powder! The slopes offer an impressive view of Lake Issyk Kul with more mountains beyond.
During school vacations and weekends it can be quite busy, outside of that you seem to have the area all to yourself. The area is easily accessible by ski bus or cab. If you have your own transportation, be sure to get something with four-wheel drive. The road is quite bumpy.
