Relaxing in Ak Suu
Relax? A quick trip to Ak Suu’s hot springs. Kyrgyzstan has a serious hot spring tradition. Locals and tourists alike bathe in the naturally warm water to wash away their aches and pains and worries. And that in the great outdoors. Wonderful country.
Not far from the village of Ak Suu and on the way to the resort of the same name, you will find the hot springs. Nothing like a dip in it, of course, hot water after a tiring day. The hot springs are open year-round, so swimming is possible both after hiking, horseback riding or mountain biking in the summer, and after a day of skiing or boarding in the winter.
Previously, the Chong Oruktu hot springs were the best option from Karakol but nowadays the Ak Suu hot springs are a much better option. There are several pools of different temperatures. The hottest bath rises above 40 degrees. For some bathers, this is even too hot. Fortunately, you can also choose from a less hot bath, and there is even an ice-cold bath to immerse yourself in.
The hot springs are about 15 km from Karakol and are easily reached by cab or marshrutka (bus number 350) from the city center. Of course, you can book a tour to Kyrgyzstan with us and we will take you there :)
