Ski Safari Kazakhstan
Going on a Ski Safari in the south of Kazakhstan? That means that you will spend a week in the metropolis of Almaty and that you will experience the largest ski areas of the country. Of course it’s gonna be a mix of culture and local experiences. For example, we are going to visit the Charyn Canyon, the vast steppes and bustling local markets.
Ski Adventure Kazakhstan
This coming winter we are offering several ski adventure trips to Kazakhstan. Skiing in the northern Himalayas overlooking the metropolis of Almaty! Don’t expect boring nightlife, Wiener Schnitzels or German Schlagers. So what can you expect? Well, for example, brand new ski resorts, vibrant nightlife and a visit to the Charyn Valley.
Ak Bulak Ski Area, great freeriding!
In short
- Some 10 kilometers of slopes, including four kilometers of blue, three kilometers of red and three kilometers of black.
- Five elevators, including one cabin elevator, three chairlifts and 1 drag elevator.
- Average temperature: – 7° C in winter (from November to April). A mild climate, many sunny days and a large amount of snow in the winter are also assets to this exceptional ski resort.
- Reasonably busy on weekends with families and children playing.
- 2 days a week there is the possibility of skiing between 19:00 and 22:00.
- The ski pass is slightly cheaper than in other ski areas around Almaty.
Ak Bulak in ‘t lang
Ak Bulak is a good starting point for beginning skiers. As mentioned in the text above, it gets very crowded with day-trippers on weekends. For example, there is a long, gentle, gradual descent for practice and teaching. However, the practiced Ryciger does not come all the way to Kazakhstan for the beginner slopes!
Freeriding for the advanced
If you want to fully experience the atmosphere of freeriding, the Ak Bulak ski area is the right place. Steep descents, an abundance of snow, pine forest, narrow passages and vast snowfields. Ak Bulak has it all. Not to mention the many couloirs and drops – as numerous as the stars. If you go on weekdays, it is also wonderfully quiet. After the deep-snow challenge, fully recharge yourself with a meal at local restaurants or even an overnight stay at the slopeside hotel. Built in 2006, Ak Bulak ski resort quickly grew to become one of the region’s most popular destinations for tourism. It is about 60 kilometers from the metropolis of Almaty, which is about an hour’s drive.
