Freeride World Tour – Silk Road Freeride – VIP experience

A VIP experience at the very first Freeride World Tour Qualifier in Kyrgyzstan. As a supporter of our non-profit, you can be part of this unique freeride event in Kyrgyzstan, all week long. You’ll get a special behind-the-scenes view of our organization. After arriving in Bishkek, we’ll arrange a transfer to the eastern part of the country. We’ll stop on the northern shore of Lake Issyk Kul and then arrive at our hub in Karakol.

From January 16 to 19, we’ll be organizing freeride training sessions and two freeride competitions. The Silk Road Freeride competition aims to prepare local riders for participation in the FWT. On January 17, we’ll hold the Silk Road Freeride competition in Jyrgalan. As the highlight of the week, we’ll host the Freeride World Tour Qualifier 2* on Saturday, January 18, in Jyrgalan. The revenues of the VIP travelers will be partly used to fund the competitions. 

Your journey starts on Tuesday morning with an exploration of the Karakol ski area. We’ll inspect the slopes and make sure everything is ready for the freeride training sessions. In the afternoon, you’re free to ski with other VIP riders in the resort. In the evening, we’ll visit the Ak Suu hot springs to unwind.

Wednesday is a free day at the Karakol ski area. As an organization, we’ll be preparing the restaurant for the training sessions, setting up banners, flags, and ensuring that the telecommunication is in place. You can enjoy the slopes and join us for lunch at the restaurant at the bottom of the slopes. In the evening, we’ll organize a riders' meeting for the Silk Road Freeride participants in Karakol, and of course, you’re welcome to join us.

Silk Road Freeride Competition

On Thursday, you can join in on the freeride training sessions at the Karakol ski area. In the morning, we’ll divide participants into groups. You’ll get to make a few runs with (beginner) freeriders. After lunch, we’ll conduct a snow safety training with beacon searches. Early in the evening, we’ll head to Jyrgalan.

Friday marks the day of the Silk Road Freeride competition. In the morning, you can ride along on the snowcat. From our yurt, you can welcome the participants, and you’ll even have the chance to participate in the Silk Road Freeride competition. Participants compete in two categories—ski and snowboard—with no gender division.

Immediately following the awards ceremony, the Freeride World Tour riders will arrive. We’ll organize a riders' meeting at the Peak Lodge in Jyrgalan, and of course, you’re welcome to join.

Freeride World Tour Qualifier 2* Jyrgalan

Saturday and Sunday are reserved for the Freeride World Tour. Normally, the FWT Qualifier takes place on Saturday, January 18. If the weather is better on Sunday the 19th, we have the option to postpone it by one day. As a VIP guest, you’ll have access to all activities. Although you might spend less time skiing or snowboarding on these days, you’ll have the chance to observe international freeriders in action. Plus, you’ll be present for the awards ceremony and the after-party at Baitor guesthouse.

On Monday, we’ll organize a transfer back to Bishkek, with a surprise stop along the southern shore of Lake Issyk Kul. We’ve booked a hotel for you in Bishkek, where we’ll say our goodbyes on Monday evening, leaving you with unforgettable memories. Your return flight is on Tuesday.
