Skiing in Kosovo!

Our experiences

Forget the crowded Alps. In Kosovo you will find mountains covered in untouched powder, empty slopes and that warm Balkan spirit that turns every ski day into a story. Right here in the heart of the Balkans, you ski the way it was meant to be: raw, real and full of freedom.

Ski touring in the mountains of Kosovo – raw, pure and untouched

In western Kosovo, where the Accursed Mountains (Bjeshkët e Nemuna) seem to scratch the sky, you step into a world that still feels wild. This is skiing stripped back to the essentials: adventure, simplicity and a deep connection to nature. Multi-day ski tours lead you through quiet valleys, across wide fields of powder and past tiny mountain villages where time slows to a crawl. In Kosovo, you don’t just ski the mountains — you feel them. No crowds, no lifts, no rush. Just you, your crew and the soft rhythm of fresh snow under your skis.

Brezovica – adventure in the Sharr Mountains

Brezovica is Kosovo’s most iconic ski area, tucked deep inside the rugged Šar Mountains. Don’t expect luxury chalets or high-speed lifts — this is all about raw mountain energy. On deep-snow days it feels like the whole world hits pause. From the 2,500-metre top station you drop into silent powder fields with endless ridgelines on the horizon. The infrastructure is quirky, sure — but that’s part of the charm. This is skiing with character.

Rugova – skiing between canyons and culture

On the western side of the country, near Peja, lies the small but soulful Rugova Ski Resort. Surrounded by snowy forests and the dramatic Rugova Canyon, it’s perfect for travellers who love mixing adventure with a cultural twist. After a day on the slopes you warm up in a local mountain hut, where the smell of slow-cooked stews and fresh bread greets you at the door. The mountains here sing their own song — and you get to join in.

Freeriding in the Accursed & Šar Mountains

For freeriders and ski tourers, Kosovo is one big powder playground. Both the Accursed Mountains and the Šar range offer steep couloirs, wide open bowls and untouched lines where your tracks are the first — and maybe the only — of the day. No lift queues here. Just snow, silence and jaw-dropping views.

Catskiing in Bogë – the ultimate off-piste experience

In the Bogë valley near Peja, things get serious. A snowcat hauls you deep into the high mountains, where untouched slopes stretch out in every direction. The runs are playful and sunny, with steeper sections for anyone who likes a challenge. Lunch? On the summit, with local treats. The finale? A sunset descent you will think about for years.
