A historically important region in the heart of the Balkans. Kosovo used to be a hub between Istanbul and the rest of Europe. The fort of Prizren is a reminder of these days. Nowadays tourists come for the wild mountains, gorges and monasteries. The predominantly young population is full of energy and you will notice this is contagious in the small streets of large cities such as Peja and Prizren. There is also always something to do in the capital, Pristina.
